Year 2 - Yellow Class
This term in Yellow Class...
Our new topic is called ‘It all began with a spark…’ We are learning all about ‘The Great Fire of London’ and we will start on the half term by becoming bakers! We will make our very own 17th century bread rolls.
- Acrostic poems using a range of description techniques
- Writing in the first person and in role
- Writing statements and questions
- Diary writing
- Letter Writing
Key Vocabulary: Thomas Farynor (Farriner), bakery, Samuel Pepys, Charles II, embers, extinguished, escaped, ignited.
In Maths, we are focusing on multiplication and the 2’s, 5’s and 10’s times tables.
PE will continue to be on a Monday and Thursday so please send your children to school in their PE kits on these days.
Home reading books will still be changed on a Friday but please ensure children bring their book bags to school daily for partner reading.
